City of Vaughan new Ward Boundaries

Communities of Lebovic Campus and a portion of Maple to join Thornhill Woods, Dufferin Hill and Concord to form the new Ward 4 boundaries

On November 24, 2009 the Ontario Municipal Board approved changes to ward boundaries for the City of Vaughan. Major changes to Ward 4 boundaries will take effect for Election Day of October 25, 2010. The northern border of Ward 4 will change from Rutherford Rd. to Teston Rd. between approximately east of the train tracks near Keele St. to Bathurst St., which includes the communities of Lebovic Campus and a portion of Maple. This area is currently part of Ward 1 and will join the communities of Thornhill Woods, Dufferin Hill and Concord to form the new Ward 4 boundaries.

The new Ward 4 boundaries will include the communities of Thornhill Woods, Lebovic Campus, Dufferin Hill, Maple and Concord.

Detailed description of the new Ward 4 boundaries per City of Vaughan Ward Boundary By-law #89-2009:

WARD 4:
“Commencing at the intersection of the centre line of Keele Street and Teston Road. Thence easterly along the centre line of Teston Road and centre line of the unopened road allowance between Lots 25 and 26, Concession 3, to the centre line of Bathurst Street. Thence southerly along the centre line of Bathurst Street to the centre line of Highway No. 7. Thence westerly along the centre line of Highway No. 7 to the center line of Dufferin Street. Thence southerly along the centre line of Dufferin Street to the centre line of Centre Street. Thence westerly on the centre line of Centre Street to the centre line of Highway No. 7. Thence westerly along the centre line of Highway No. 7 to the centre line of the Canadian National Railway line. Thence southerly along the centre line of the Canadian National Railway line to the centre line of Steeles Avenue West. Thence westerly along the centre line of Steeles Avenue West to the centre line of Highway No. 400. Thence northerly along the centre line of Highway No. 400 to the centre line of Rutherford Road. Thence easterly along the centre line of Rutherford Road to the northwest limit of Plan 65M-3071. Thence south easterly along the southern and western limit of Plan 65M-3071 to the centre line of Keele Street. Thence northerly along the centre line of Keele Street to the centre line of Rutherford Road. Thence easterly along the centre line of Rutherford Road to the centre line of the Canadian National Railway rail line. Thence northerly along the centre line of the Canadian National Railway rail line to the centre line of McNaughton Road East. Thence westerly along the centre line of McNaughton Road East to the centre line of Keele Street. Thence northerly along the centre line of Keele Street to the point of commencement.”
